According to Genesis on the 26th, overseas media said the GV90 combines a commanding body with clean, flowing curves that remove unnecessary lines and ornamentation, creating a sense of luxury. The U.S. outlet The Drive highlighted the seamless integration of the body panels and its solid presence, while the British publication Auto Express said the rounded shape evokes Korea’s moon jar. CAR magazine in the U.K. noted that the concept-car design has been carried over to the production model with unusual fidelity, pointing to features such as the Wing Face MLA headlamps at the front.
The feature that drew the most attention at the unveiling was the 'Neolun Arch Gate,' a coach door layout in which the front and rear doors open toward each other without a B-pillar. CarScoops said coach doors are usually limited to concept cars, but the GV90 Neolun Concept is an exception, adding that the second-row experience feels luxurious and smooth. MotorTrend explained that the independently opening coach doors were made possible by combining dual-motion hinges with a hidden roll cage, achieving both elegance and safety suited to a 21st-century vehicle. The Drive also singled out the ability to open the front and rear doors simultaneously and independently without a B-pillar as what makes the structure special.
The cabin was described as closer to a private lounge for passengers. Jalopnik said traditional luxury mood and innovative technology were perfectly combined, and highlighted the wide range of material options, including wood, leather, cashmere, and stone. Top Gear in the U.K. described the interior as resembling a private art gallery. Auto Express noted that the natural wood veneer and floor heating system bring to mind Korea’s traditional Ondol heating, while Edmunds praised the spacious cabin, comfortable seats, and soft leather finish. Car and Driver said the GV90 Neolun Concept had "completely pushed the limits" based on its natural wood veneer floor and 180-degree swivel seats.
Praise for the GV90 has also extended to the standing of the Genesis brand itself. Forbes said Genesis has spent the past decade redefining luxury with a distinctly Korean sensibility, and that the arrival of the GV90 means the brand is finally ready to turn its dream into reality. MotorTrend said the emerging luxury brand is now targeting Cadillac, Range Rover, and even Rolls-Royce. Jalopnik also mentioned Genesis’ participation in endurance racing and the Magma GT Concept, saying it is hard to find another brand that moves with such relentless momentum. Edmunds noted that competing with brands that have a 100-year history is not easy, but after seeing the GV90 in person, both Genesis and its rivals should take notice.
The positive response from global media has also carried over to consumers. Review videos of the GV90 posted on North American automotive YouTube channels such as The Fast Lane Car, Eddie X, and Car Confections drew many comments saying it outclassed established luxury brands, along with praise for the B-pillar-free structure.
On Reddit as well, users expressed admiration for the sleek design, which avoids unnecessary ornamentation, and praised Genesis for finally bringing to production the B-pillar-free coach door concept that had been attempted in various concept cars. One user predicted that the GV90 will change the way people perceive the Genesis brand itself.
A Genesis official said, "The GV90 has set a new standard in the global luxury mobility market by incorporating innovative technologies and a Korean hospitality philosophy, including the world’s first hidden B-pillar coach door Neolun Arch Gate, a radiant wood floor inspired by Korea’s Ondol, and 180-degree rotating swivel seats." The official added, "Through the GV90, we will stand shoulder to shoulder with established global premium brands and begin a journey toward the next 10 years."
