Wrtn Raises 100 Billion Won in Series C Funding, Becomes an 'AI Unicorn'

[Financial News] Wrtn Technologies has become the first domestic AI service startup to be valued at more than 1 trillion won, successfully securing 100 billion won in Series C funding. The company is expected to post revenue of more than 200 billion won this year, more than four times last year's level.
Wrtn said on the 26th that it had raised 100 billion won in Series C funding, bringing its cumulative investment total to about 230 billion won.
Coreline Ventures and Eugene Asset Management joined the round as new investors. Existing backers, including Goodwater Capital, Antler Global, Woori Venture Partners, Sui Generis Partners, KDB, and Capstone Partners, also participated. Osuke Honda, co-founder and partner at Coreline Ventures, said the investment was driven by the belief that Wrtn's platform is leading the broader consumer AI movement, which is transforming how people create, communicate, and spend time online.
Wrtn's AI entertainment content platform OOC, launched in North America in May, surpassed 100 million won in monthly sales within three months of launch, with overseas revenue overtaking domestic revenue. Supported by the growth of its overseas business, Wrtn's total revenue this year is expected to exceed 200 billion won, up from 47.1 billion won last year.
Wrtn emphasized that it is focusing not only on growth in scale but also on strengthening user protection, safety, and reliability. In July, the company officially launched a user committee made up of experts in AI ethics and philosophy, cognition and psychology, and law.
It is also preparing to introduce youth protection policies. Teenagers account for about 10% of users of Crack, Wrtn's AI entertainment content platform. To ensure safer AI use for young users, Crack is considering measures such as setting usage time limits, strengthening parental consent procedures, and lowering payment caps. It plans to announce a comprehensive package once the details are finalized.
Wrtn CEO Lee Se-young said, "We will focus on global expansion and service enhancement, and grow quickly as a trustworthy AI service company."
