[Financial News] Broadcaster Park Soo-hong has reportedly delayed a flight by as much as one hour while traveling to Guam with his family, sparking controversy over alleged celebrity favoritism.
On the 26th, a post titled "Controversy over Park Soo-hong getting off and back on. Korean Air delayed by 1 hour" appeared on an online community.
The author, identified as A, claimed, "Korean Air's flight from Incheon International Airport to Guam was delayed for about an hour on the 23rd," adding, "It was because of Park Soo-hong's family."
He explained the situation at the time, saying, "When Park Soo-hong's child would not stop crying, they said they would get off the plane, and the process of removing the checked baggage from the aircraft began in accordance with the cancellation procedure. But once the child stopped crying, Park Soo-hong's family changed their minds and said they would board again. Korean Air allowed them to reboard and proceeded with loading the baggage."
To support the claim, A also released a photo showing an airline employee handling baggage and Park Soo-hong listening to the explanation while holding his daughter in a baby carrier.
When a passenger gives up boarding, security and baggage verification procedures are carried out again for the checked luggage, and Korean Air also appears to have begun the process of locating Park Soo-hong's family's baggage and removing it from the aircraft.
After hearing the news, online users criticized the incident, saying, "Was that even possible?" "Please stop causing trouble for others," and "This isn't a private charter flight, so what is going on?" However, one user who said they were on the same flight as Park Soo-hong commented, "The baby cried a lot, so they must have had a hard time. They apologized again at the scene."
