Kim Jong Un gives no response to Trump's outreach, focuses on domestic affairs at expanded Political Bureau meeting

[Financial News] Kim Jong Un, who has recently received repeated offers of dialogue from President Donald Trump, made no public remarks in response. Instead, he appeared to avoid any mention of U.S. issues and focused solely on resolving internal North Korean matters.
KCNA reported on the 26th that the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee convened the 4th expanded meeting of its 9th term on the 25th to strengthen political and practical measures that would ensure the successful implementation of key policy tasks for 2026. Kim Jong Un also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Kim Jong Un pointed to deviations that had emerged during the implementation of party congress decisions and stressed, "These are shortcomings that can be fully overcome and resolved when we rally with renewed determination and a fighting spirit, as they stem from the immature planning and command capabilities of economic leadership bodies that have not kept pace with our higher ideals and stronger momentum." However, he made no mention of external issues such as a North Korea-U.S. summit or President Trump's overtures.
President Trump has recently signaled his willingness to restart dialogue by posting photos with Kim Jong Un on social media, but the report on the expanded Political Bureau meeting contained no related remarks.
On the 25th local time, Trump reposted a message he had put on Truth Social nine days earlier calling for a reduction in the ROK-US Combined Military Exercise. On the 24th, he also posted several photos that appeared to show him with Kim Jong Un at the 2018 North Korea–United States Singapore Summit and the 2019 Koreas–United States DMZ Summit, sending conciliatory messages to Kim Jong Un day after day.
The most recent person to comment on the relationship between Kim Jong Un and President Trump was Kim Yo Jong, deputy department director of the WPK. In a late-night statement through KCNA on the 19th, she formally denied Trump's claim that the two leaders were communicating, saying it was "something we know nothing about." She did, however, say that the personal rapport and relationship between Kim Jong Un and Trump remained good.
