[Financial News] A well-known doctor who appeared on terrestrial television has been arrested by police on suspicion of secretly filming women near Yongsan Station in Seoul.
According to police on the 25th, Yongsan Police Station in Seoul arrested a male doctor from a university hospital in April on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, specifically illegal filming using a camera or similar device.
He is accused of filming the bodies of two women with his mobile phone in front of Yongsan Station on April 11.
Police responded after receiving a report from the victims' family, arrested Ahn at the scene, and later forensically examined his phone.
The phone also contained additional photos of eight to nine women that Ahn had taken several years earlier.
Police sent Ahn to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office in June, but prosecutors decided not to indict him.
A suspended indictment means that the suspect's crime is acknowledged, but the case is not sent to trial after considering various factors such as the motive, whether the suspect showed remorse, and whether a settlement was reached.
Ahn is reported to have resigned from the hospital and is no longer working there.
