Iran airs threat to assassinate Trump’s youngest son... U.S. Secret Service says it is preparing

Iran has threatened to assassinate Barron Trump, the youngest son of U.S. President Donald Trump. U.S. security authorities have been put on alert.
Cable News Network (CNN) reported on the 25th (local time) that Iranian state broadcaster IRIB aired a three-minute video over the weekend that opened with a graphic reading, "Where should we kill Barron Trump?" in English.
Barron, 20, is the only child of President Trump and his wife, Melania. He enrolled in New York University (NYU)'s Stern School of Business in 2024.
The IRIB video included graphics showing Trump Tower in New York City, along with other places where Barron is known to spend time in public. In the latter part of the video, a line also said that people were "eagerly waiting to receive the $10 million bounty."
Iranian hardline media have repeatedly reported that Trump and his family should be avenged since the outbreak of war on Feb. 28, after many members of the family, including then Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei, were killed.
There were also threats against his wife, Melania.
CNN said, however, that this appears to be the first time Barron, the youngest son, has been singled out publicly.
CNN added that the U.S. Secret Service (USSS), which protects the president and other key figures under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is aware of the threat and is preparing for it.
Secret Service spokesman Nate Herring said, "The Secret Service is aware of the video" and added, "We are investigating all matters."
Meanwhile, according to CNN, the threat video targeting Barron is only one of several videos aimed at the president and his family. Some of the videos include routes taken by the Trump family and content encouraging their killing.
Amid these threats, Trump also drew controversy last month when he pretended to board the presidential plane and then hid in a food cart before transferring to a military transport aircraft on his return from a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Ankara, Türkiye.
