What looked like an ordinary home selfie turned out to be... BLACKPINK's Jisoo's home wall filled with a 'multi-billion-won masterpiece'

[Financial News] Jisoo of BLACKPINK has shared casual photos taken at home, but high-priced works by master artists spotted in the background are drawing attention from both the cultural and art worlds.
On the 23rd, Jisoo posted several selfies on her social media account, along with the caption "A collection of this and that." The photos showed her in comfortable clothes at home, taking mirror selfies. Instead of her glamorous stage styling, the images captured her everyday side. Even so, public attention quickly shifted to the large paintings filling the wall behind her.
One of the works in the photo is believed to be "Dialogue," a signature series by Lee Ufan, a leading figure in Korean contemporary art and Dansaekhwa. Known for conveying resonance through empty space and restrained brushstrokes, his works are highly sought after in the international art market. The series is said to command prices of 100 million to 2 billion won.
Another work on the wall is thought to be one from "Écriture," a series by the late Park Seo-bo (1931-2023), a pioneer of Korean Dansaekhwa. Celebrated worldwide for its repeated lines and meditative process, the work suggests that Jisoo's art collection is substantial if the pieces are indeed part of her personal holdings.
As with any artwork, value can vary depending on size, production period, and ownership history. Still, the fact that the essence of Korean Dansaekhwa was naturally revealed through the living space of a global K-pop star is also drawing interest from the art world.
Meanwhile, Jisoo, who is marking her 10th debut anniversary this year, will continue her music career. She is set to release her solo single "CLICK" on the 4th of next month. It will be her first new song in about 11 months, following last October's collaboration track "Eyes Closed" with pop star Jane.
