Ministry of SMEs and Startups discusses additional support for Homeplus partners and tenants

[Financial News] The government will review the difficulties faced by Homeplus tenants and prepare additional support measures.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups held a meeting on Homeplus partners and tenants on the 25th at the Capital Region Support Center of Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), chaired by Lee Byeong-gwon, Second Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups.
The meeting was arranged to hear about the difficulties Homeplus partners and tenants are facing on site and to review the government’s support efforts.
As Homeplus resumed operations on the 13th, trade and business activities at these companies are expected to gradually normalize. However, management difficulties and cash shortages that have accumulated during the prolonged rehabilitation process have still not been resolved.
Participants at the meeting said they are struggling with unpaid settlements and declining sales, and asked for continued government attention and swift support to help restore normal business operations as soon as possible.
Lee said, "We will review conditions on the ground to ensure swift support for the normalization of partner and tenant businesses, and we will continue to prepare additional support measures based on suggestions from the field."
