[Financial News] An anonymous "donation angel" from South Gyeongsang Province, who has regularly supported neighbors in need every year, has once again donated 5 million won to help residents affected by heavy rain.

According to Yonhap News Agency and others on the 24th, the Community Chest of Korea said an anonymous donor in South Gyeongsang Province had given 5 million won in cash.
At around 1 p.m. on the 21st, the donor called the Gyeongnam office of the Community Chest of Korea and said, "I left a box in front of the office."
The box left in front of the office contained 5 million won in cash, a chrysanthemum, and a handwritten letter.
In the letter, the donor wrote, "I offer my deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the heavy rains in the southern region. I also extend my heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families." The donor added, "I want to comfort those who lost their homes and are now in despair," and said, "I hope recovery will come quickly. This is a small gesture, but I hope it helps the fundraising effort."
At the end of the letter, only the phrase "On some day in August 2026" was written. The Community Chest of Korea said that the expression "on some day" is a distinctive phrase the donor includes every time.

The anonymous donor has reportedly sent money without revealing their name whenever disasters have occurred in South Korea and abroad since 2017, including the year-end and New Year Hope Sharing Campaign. The donor has also consistently sent a chrysanthemum and a handwritten letter with each donation. After giving 5 million won last month to help residents affected by the earthquake in Venezuela, the donor made the same donation again just over a month later.
Including this latest contribution, the donor's cumulative donations are believed to have reached more than 760 million won.
Park Eun-deok, head of the Gyeongnam office of the Community Chest of Korea, said, "We are deeply grateful for the warm heart shown toward the affected residents." She added, "We will make sure the donor's valuable intention is properly delivered so that it can help speed up recovery in the affected areas and support displaced residents in returning to their daily lives."
The latest donation will be used to support displaced residents in flood-hit areas and to help with recovery efforts.
