Iksan-si Draws Up 2 Trillion Won Supplementary Budget, Focuses on Economic Recovery

[Financial News, Iksan = Reporter Kang In] Iksan-si in North Jeolla Province has drawn up a supplementary budget and submitted it to the city council.
According to Iksan-si on the 25th, the supplementary budget totals 2.0053 trillion won.
That is 137.2 billion won, or 7.3%, more than the original budget of 1.8681 trillion won.
To stabilize the livelihoods of ordinary citizens, Iksan-si allocated 38.7 billion won for support for damage from high oil prices, 6.5 billion won for fuel subsidies for the transportation industry, and 2.6 billion won for support for city and rural bus operators.
It also reflected 2.6 billion won for basic pensions, 2.5 billion won for senior care facilities, 1.1 billion won for housing benefits, 900 million won for the Iksan-style youth employment allowance, 600 million won for childcare fees for infants and toddlers aged 0 to 2, 600 million won for interest support on housing loans for young people and newlyweds, and 500 million won for activity support for people with disabilities.
The city also decided on 500 million won for a basic plan and feasibility study for a complex hub centered on Iksan Station, 500 million won for a research project to establish a basic plan for the artificial intelligence industry, 600 million won for a contribution to the regional growth fund of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and 900 million won for building an autonomous-driving smart platform.
Mayor Choi Jeong-ho said, "We have concentrated resources on key projects that will stabilize livelihoods and become future growth engines for the city. Even in difficult times, we will protect residents' lives and push ahead with future investments without wavering."
