KB Kookmin Bank Supports Surgery for Cambodian Children with Heart Disease in Korea

[Financial News] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 25th that it had invited six Cambodian children with heart disease to Korea on the 24th and supported their free surgery and recovery.
The "Cambodian Children with Heart Disease Support Project" is a social contribution program run by KB Kookmin Bank that gives children struggling to receive treatment because of poor local medical conditions the chance to undergo surgery. KB Kookmin Bank has continued the project with the Financial Supervisory Service and The Salvation Army since 2012. So far, it has given 113 children healthy hearts and hope for a new life.
At the event held that day at Sejong General Hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, Financial Supervisory Service Governor Lee Chan-jin, Kim Byung-Yoon, Territorial Commander of The Salvation Army Korea Territory, KB Kookmin Bank CEO Lee Hwan-ju, and Shin Ji-a, a national figure skater sponsored by KB Financial Group Inc., attended. The participants gave school supply sets, backpacks, and dolls to the children recovering after surgery, and wished them a speedy recovery.
In particular, to mark the project's 15th anniversary this year, the bank introduced a video showing the growth of children who previously received surgery support. The presentation highlighted the meaning of the long-running program by showing children who returned to Cambodia after treatment and grew up healthy.
Meanwhile, KB Kookmin Bank expanded its medical support base by building the "KB Kookmin Bank Hebron Heart Center" in Cambodia in 2014.
