Wonju Mandu Festival Launches Promotion Campaign with Star Chef Jung Ji-sun

【Financial News, Wonju = Reporter Kim Gi-seop】Star chef Jung Ji-sun, known as the "queen of dim sum," will lead efforts to promote the Wonju Mandu Festival.
According to Wonju-si on the 25th, the city held a ceremony that day to appoint Jung Ji-sun as an ambassador for the 2026 Wonju Mandu Festival. Jung is a Chinese cuisine expert who has become familiar to the public through various TV programs and content, and has built her reputation in dim sum.
The city said it selected her because the festival's focus on dumplings, her expertise in dim sum, and her broad public recognition are a strong match, making her well suited to promote the event effectively. Jung will take part in both online and offline promotional activities. During the festival, she will also visit the venue in person and present a live cooking show for visitors, highlighting the appeal of dumplings.
The 2026 Wonju Mandu Festival, where Jung will appear, will be held from October 23 to 25 at the Wonjucheon Dawn Market area. This year, the event will feature a newly redesigned venue and stronger ties with nearby traditional markets. Visitors and tourists will be welcomed with a variety of dumpling foods, along with traditional market-linked programs, performances and hands-on experiences, and citizen participation programs.
Jung said, "I am delighted to become the face of a festival centered on dim sum and dumplings, two foods I have long cared deeply about as a chef." She added, "I want to share the many charms and joys of dumplings with visitors through the cooking show I will present on site."
