AI startup Liner raises 50 billion won in Series C funding round

[Financial News] Liner, an AI agent startup, said on the 25th that it had secured 50 billion won in a Series C funding round. It has been about 1 year and 10 months since its previous round, bringing Liner's cumulative funding to about 94 billion won.
The round was led by LB Investment, while existing shareholders including Atinum Investment and CJ Investment Inc. joined the follow-on investment. New investors also included Korea Development Bank (KDB), Helios Private Equity, KB Securities, Daishin Securities and STIC Ventures.
Liner plans to channel the newly raised funds into research and development to strengthen its technological edge.
In particular, it aims to diversify the business model of its core Business-to-Consumer (B2C) services and localize its proven agent technology from overseas markets for Korea, expanding it into an AI for everyone service that people can experience in daily life.
It also plans to focus its capabilities on securing an ecosystem in the domestic and global enterprise AI transformation market.
Park Ki-ho, CEO of LB Investment, said, "Liner has unique technological capabilities that can stand shoulder to shoulder with global big tech companies in AI search and agent services, where information accuracy is critical."
Jinwoo Kim, CEO of Liner, said, "This funding is a strategic move to secure the technological infrastructure and talent needed to ensure reliability, which is at the core of AI agents." He added, "On the fiercely competitive global AI stage, Liner is proving its capabilities and competing confidently with world-class big tech companies."
