According to police on the 25th, Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul has arrested and is questioning the man, identified only as A, on charges of public indecency.
A is accused of exposing himself around 3:10 p.m. the previous day near a spring on the Ansan Jarak-gil Trail, a walking path near Yonsei University’s Sinchon Campus in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, after pulling down his pants and underwear.
Police detained A based on a report and statements from a woman who witnessed the scene. During questioning, A reportedly said that he had been "urinating."
Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the case while also examining whether A is the same suspect involved in the recent indecent assault and exposure incidents near Yonsei University.
Over the past two months, multiple reports have been filed in the Yonsei University and Ansan Jarak-gil area that a naked man wearing a mask was harassing passersby and students or hiding in the bushes.
In addition, on the 21st, police received a report that a man wearing only fishnet stockings had appeared in a women’s restroom at a shopping complex in Seodaemun District.
Police are analyzing CCTV footage and other evidence, suspecting that the earlier incidents may have been committed by the same person.
