Bando Group Holds Safety Culture Experience Training with Partners... "Preparing for Climate Disasters"

[Financial News] Bando Group is stepping up efforts to strengthen safety and health capabilities with its partner companies in line with its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management policy.
Bando Group said on the 25th that it conducted 'Safety Culture Experience Training' for employees at its headquarters and partner companies, while significantly strengthening safety and health inspections at sites nationwide in preparation for increasingly severe climate disasters.
The training was organized as part of this year's safety and health goal of 'strengthening on-site disaster prevention capabilities through safety and health education.' Practical and theoretical training on high-risk and major work categories was provided for site managers and supervisors. Employees who completed the program were also encouraged to pass on their knowledge to lower-level workers at sites, helping spread safety awareness. In particular, first-aid practice and 65 hands-on programs at the industrial safety experience center were used to improve response capabilities in emergency situations.
At the same time, Bando Group launched special safety inspections across all sites to proactively respond to climate disasters such as the rainy season, heat waves, and autumn typhoons. To eliminate site-by-site differences and block risks, the company distributed a unified self-inspection checklist and thoroughly reviewed compliance.
Inspection items included whether drainage plans had been established based on expected rainfall by region, whether emergency response systems were in place, and the condition of soil runoff prevention measures, earth-retaining supports, formwork, and scaffolding installations. In addition, to prepare for heat waves, the company is actively exercising the right to stop work when the perceived temperature exceeds 35 degrees Celsius. It is also strictly managing the five key heat-wave safety rules in connection with smart risk assessments. Health support measures to prevent heat-related illnesses are also being provided, including one-on-one consultations with medical professionals, hygiene checks for ice makers, and the distribution of portable fans.
Lee Jeong-ryeol, head of Bando Group's construction division, said, "Safety cannot be maintained through unilateral instructions from headquarters alone. It must be supported by systematic management built on close ties with partner companies," adding, "We will spare no support to protect the safety and health of site workers who are struggling in unpredictable weather."
Meanwhile, since introducing ESG management, Bando Group has continued win-win management with its partner companies and achieved a record of zero major industrial accidents for seven consecutive years. This year, it is strengthening its site safety system with the goal of extending that record to eight straight years.
