The study focused on analyzing how climate change affects residential environments based on data and on developing new solutions that can protect residents' health and safety, as well as housing assets.
GS Engineering & Construction and CRA analyzed residential environments in South Korea and overseas using data on major climate variables such as heavy rain, heat waves and fine dust. They carried out the research by combining CRA's capabilities in data analysis and sensor-based design with GS Engineering & Construction's expertise in housing construction and operations.
GS Engineering & Construction said it has identified a range of future housing concepts. Based on the findings, which are still at the conceptual stage, the company plans to conduct pilot tests to verify their technical feasibility and effectiveness. A GS Engineering & Construction official said, "We will continue to create a next-generation residential environment where Xi apartment brand residents can live safely and comfortably even amid climate change through ongoing research and technology verification."
