[Financial News] Hoban Group is supplying drinking water to a community in Bangladesh in partnership with a domestic startup. The installation is expected to directly and indirectly benefit more than 1,000 people, including users of the educational facility and nearby residents. Hoban Group said on the 25th that it had installed an integrated smart water purification system called BLOSS at public institutions and educational facilities in the Keraniganj area of Bangladesh with water-tech company GEOGRID.
BLOSS is an integrated smart water purification system that combines purification, sterilization, pipe management, and real-time water quality monitoring. It applies purification and sterilization methods tailored to local water conditions and uses ionization technology to manage rust and sediment inside pipes. Sensors also allow real-time monitoring of water quality, water usage, and system status.
The project is part of the KOICA CTS program, carried out jointly by the Korean government and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Its goal is to provide safe drinking water and help improve drinking conditions for local residents and users of educational facilities while preventing waterborne diseases.
Earlier, Hoban Group and GEOGRID conducted a field survey in June to examine raw water characteristics, drinking facilities, water supply pipelines, and installation conditions. After consultations with relevant authorities, they selected the main office of the local administrative agency, or UNO, and the Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Center (BKTTC) as the project sites. The system was then designed and installed to match each facility's water supply conditions and water quality characteristics. Keraniganj is an area where Hoban Industries, Hoban Group's construction affiliate, is building an information and communications technology (ICT) education center in connection with an Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) project.
Hoban Group plans to operate the smart water purification system with GEOGRID for the next six months and verify its water quality improvement effects and operational stability. A Hoban Group official said, "We will continue expanding a win-win cooperation model that helps domestic innovative companies enter overseas markets."
