[Financial News] Daekyo's language-learning platform, Daekyo Ujurun, announced on the 25th that it has launched an online "TOPIK Instructor Training Course" to systematically develop specialized instructors for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). As global demand for Korean language learning rises rapidly, the company is expanding beyond general learner education into training professional teaching staff.
According to the Ministry of Education, the number of TOPIK applicants is expected to reach about 560,000 in 2025, and the figure has been rising sharply every year. The increase reflects the spread of K-culture as well as growing demand for Korean for study abroad and employment. In step with this expanding market, Daekyo launched the course to train practical instructors who can be immediately deployed in educational settings.
The "TOPIK Instructor Training Course" runs for nine weeks and focuses on online theoretical learning, combined with assessment and hands-on practice. It covers teaching methods tailored to the test formats and learning objectives across all TOPIK sections, including listening, reading, writing and speaking. The program is designed to evaluate instructors' teaching capabilities through step-by-step theoretical and practical assessments. Another feature is that the entire course is conducted online, allowing participants to learn without time or location constraints.
Applications will be accepted on Daekyo Ujurun's official website until the 3rd of next month. Discounts will be offered for the first class of trainees, and tuition can also be paid with a lifelong education voucher.
A Daekyo official said, "As global interest in Korean language education grows, the importance of content for professional educators, not just learners, is also increasing." The official added, "Based on our strengths in language education, we will continue to introduce specialized programs and expand both our audience and our areas of education."
