According to Ernst & Young Hanyoung on the 25th, the company and Upstage signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 24th at Ernst & Young Hanyoung's office in Yeouido, Seoul, to expand AI transformation based on Sovereign AI. The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Sooyeon, head of the EY AI Center, Lee Hwal-seok, CTO of Upstage, and others.
The core of the partnership is the combination of technology and industry expertise. Upstage will provide its in-house LLM Solar, while Ernst & Young Hanyoung will bring in its experience in AI strategy, business innovation, proof of concept (PoC), implementation and operations across a range of industries. Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to jointly support the full AX process, from developing AI adoption strategies for each company to PoC, on-site deployment and operating system setup.
They are expected to focus especially on sectors where data security and regulatory compliance are critical, such as finance, the public sector and manufacturing. As the use of generative AI spreads, more companies want to use sensitive data without relying on overseas AI models. The two companies will also share market and regulatory trends related to Sovereign AI, while working to identify industry-specific AI use cases based on Solar, share implementation examples and find joint customers.
"This collaboration is meaningful because it will further expand the ecosystem of partnerships with domestic AI technology companies and give clients a wider range of AI options," said Kim Sooyeon, head of the EY AI Center at Ernst & Young Hanyoung. "We will continue expanding AI partnerships to help accelerate our clients' AX."
"Our partnership with Ernst & Young Hanyoung will become a practical foundation for expanding Sovereign AI-based AX by combining industry expertise with AI technology," Lee Hwal-seok, CTO of Upstage, said.
