According to the Korea Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives on the 25th, this support is being carried out in cooperation with the Korean Red Cross. 50 million won in donations was delivered to Geoje-si and Tongyeong-si respectively, and 120,000 bottles of bottled water worth 60 million won were provided.
The donations and bottled water are scheduled to be used for stabilizing the lives of affected residents and for regional recovery. The 'MG Ttasum Volunteer Corps,' composed of employees of the Community Credit Cooperatives, is also contributing to the recovery efforts.
The volunteer group is carrying out recovery activities to help residents restore their daily lives, such as visiting flood-damaged apartments in the Geoje area to remove soil that has flowed into underground parking lots and assisting with drainage operations.
Meanwhile, the Saemaul Geumgo is also providing financial support to household, small business, and SME customers who submit a 'Certificate of Disaster Damage' by September 18, including loan maturity extensions of up to one year, deferral of principal and interest payments for up to six months, and emergency loans of up to 10 million won.
An official from the Korea Federation of Saemaul Geumgo stated, "We offer our deepest condolences to the residents suffering from the sudden flood damage," adding, "We will do our utmost in support and on-site recovery activities so that the affected residents can regain their safe daily lives as soon as possible.
