Celltrion launches OMLYCLO 300 mg in Europe, targets market with expanded doses and devices

Celltrion has launched OMLYCLO, a treatment for chronic spontaneous urticaria and allergic asthma, in the European market with the 300 mg dose of omalizumab, stepping up efforts to strengthen the product's competitiveness. Building on its early lead in the European omalizumab biosimilar market, the company plans to expand its market influence and accelerate sales with a portfolio that offers a range of doses and delivery devices.
According to Celltrion on the 25th, the company introduced the 300 mg version in Germany, the United Kingdom and France, among other major markets, starting in midyear, after launching the 75 mg and 150 mg versions in Europe late last year. It is now expanding supply in the countries where the product has already been launched and plans to widen sales across Europe in the future.
The launch of OMLYCLO 300 mg is significant because it improves convenience for patients and expands treatment options for medical professionals. Patients who need a 300 mg dose previously had to receive two 150 mg injections, but the single-dose 300 mg product allows treatment with one injection.
Celltrion has broadened patient choice by supplying the 300 mg product not only as a prefilled syringe but also as an autoinjector. This allows patients to choose the formulation and device best suited to their condition, treatment setting and method of use.
The company also highlighted storage stability and ease of use as key differentiators. OMLYCLO can be stored for up to two years under refrigeration at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, and for up to seven days at room temperature of up to 25 degrees Celsius. In particular, it can be returned to refrigerated storage after being kept at room temperature, improving flexibility in transport, storage and actual use.
Celltrion said it confirmed strong interest and expectations for OMLYCLO 300 mg through meetings with local medical professionals at major European conferences, including the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) held in June. With the launch of the 300 mg product, the company plans to expand prescriptions for new patients and increase tender wins in major European countries. It intends to actively use product differentiators such as the wide range of dose options, the PFS and AI lineup, and the extended shelf life and room-temperature stability in its marketing to translate them into tangible sales growth.
Accordingly, the company plans to sequentially expand tender wins and supply volumes for awarded contracts in major European countries in the second half of the year, sustaining OMLYCLO's sales growth.
