According to TS on the 25th, the classes will run 13 times in total from Sept. 12 to Nov. 2 at the Siheung Drone Education Center in Baegot-dong, Siheung-si. They will be divided into six family sessions, four learning sessions and three advanced sessions. The second-half program was designed to provide a wider range of drone experience and education opportunities for elementary school students, families and students in Siheung-si.
The family program is for elementary school students and their guardians to take part together. Participants will experience drone soccer, first-person-view control, drone delivery, bowling and tumbling. Families of up to four members, including elementary school students enrolled in schools in Siheung-si, can apply on a first-come, first-served basis from the 25th through the QR code on each session's promotional material or a Google Form.
The advanced program for students interested in drones will be operated in cooperation with elementary schools in Siheung. It will begin with drone industry education and then move step by step through simulator control, drone filming techniques and flight practice. This is a new course added this year alongside the existing family and learning programs.
TS will provide safety training before each session and instruct participants to wear protective gear, including helmets, during the experience. It also plans to assign emergency response staff and operate the program and schedule flexibly depending on weather conditions such as rain.
TS and Siheung-si opened the Siheung Drone Education Center to the public in 2024 and 2025, giving about 1,000 people a year the chance to experience drones. In the first half of this year, 653 residents and students took part in 17 classes, including 12 family sessions and five learning sessions. Siheung-si said it will continue expanding educational opportunities so residents and students can get closer to future technologies and explore career paths.
Yong-Sik Jung, Chairman, Board of Trustees of TS, said, "I hope this will be a meaningful time for parents and children to experience future jobs related to drones firsthand." He added, "We will put safety first in operating the experience classes and take the lead in nurturing future drone talent."
