According to police on the 25th, Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul is investigating the man, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of trespassing into a multi-use facility for sexual purposes under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.
Mr. A is accused of entering a women’s restroom at a shopping building in Hongje-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, around 7:30 p.m. on the 21st while naked except for fishnet stockings.
A woman who was in the restroom at the time spotted him and tried to report him. Mr. A then moved to the men’s restroom, changed clothes, and fled the building, according to reports.
After receiving the report, police identified Mr. A using photos taken by the reporter and CCTV footage. About an hour after the offense, officers found him roughly 400 meters from the scene and escorted him to the police station.
Police plan to question Mr. A about how he entered the women’s restroom and what motivated the offense, among other details.
Meanwhile, police are also investigating a series of indecent assault and witness reports involving a naked man wearing a mask near the Yonsei University dormitory. They are considering the possibility that the three cases reported from June through this month were committed by the same person. Police are also looking into whether the arrested Mr. A is the same person as Yonsei University’s "naked man."
