"Air-to-Air Guided Missile Transport" LX Pantos Strengthens Defense Logistics

[Financial News] LX Pantos is stepping up its rapidly growing defense logistics business.
According to the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) on the 25th, LX Pantos carried out a defense logistics project involving the import and transport of air-to-air guided missiles from France for a Republic of Korea Marine Corps (ROK Marine Corps) indigenous Marine Attack Helicopter development program, after receiving the assignment from Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI).
The air-to-air guided missiles were moved from Châteauroux-Centre "Marcel Dassault" Airport in France to Incheon International Airport on an LX Pantos chartered flight. They were then handed over to a Republic of Korea Marine Corps unit in Pohang by land transport.
Defense materials must meet both the International Air Transport Association's dangerous goods transport regulations and the safety standards of aviation authorities in each country. For this shipment, LX Pantos completed a demanding international transport process, securing overflight approvals from a total of 14 countries across France, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
LX Pantos entered the defense logistics market after receiving an excellent rating in a security assessment by the Defense Counterintelligence Command (DCC) in 2024. It has built up project execution experience with defense contractors such as KAI, while also strengthening its logistics security management capabilities by obtaining the top evaluation level, AL3, in the global information security certification Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX).
An LX Pantos official said, "We successfully carried out a defense logistics project that required advanced safety and security management capabilities as well as logistics expertise," adding, "We will strengthen our role as a defense logistics partner by supporting the logistics operations of leading domestic defense companies."
Meanwhile, according to market research firm Fortune Business Insights, the global defense logistics market was worth $182.5 billion last year, or about 267 trillion won. The market is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 7.3% and reach $344.3 billion, or about 505 trillion won, by 2034.
