BioSolution to Co-Participate in CPHI Korea with Merck Life Science

[Financial News] BioSolution, a company specializing in advanced biopharmaceuticals, will join forces with global life science company Merck Life Science to showcase an animal alternative testing research solution using 3D human tissue models and precision analysis technology.
On the 25th, BioSolution said it will operate a joint booth with Merck Life Science at the World Pharmaceutical, Bio and Health Functional Industry Exhibition (CPHI Korea 2026), which runs from the 25th to the 27th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
The collaboration was designed to demonstrate practical applications by combining the two companies' technologies in actual research processes amid growing demand for animal alternative testing. At the site, they will demonstrate the evaluation process for drug candidates and functional cosmetic ingredients by linking BioSolution's 3D human tissue models with Merck's analytical equipment.
The two companies will introduce an animal alternative testing research workflow that combines human-derived 3D tissue models and precision analysis equipment at booth E30 in Hall C at COEX. Technical experts from both companies will also be on hand to provide one-on-one consultations and advice on research applications.
A test substance is applied to BioSolution's human skin model, KeraSkin, and Merck's epithelial electrical resistance meter, MilliCell, is used to measure changes in skin barrier function. The process then uses the multi-analysis platform MILLIPLEX to simultaneously analyze changes in inflammation- and immune-related biomarkers.
At the exhibition, BioSolution will also present its nonclinical CRO services based on biomimetic tissue models, including KeraSkin, the corneal model MCTT HCE, the respiratory model SoluAirway, and the oral mucosa model SoluOral.
The company plans to support everything from safety evaluations, such as skin and eye irritation, phototoxicity, and skin corrosion, to efficacy assessments, including skin barrier, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging effects.
Lee Soo-hyun, head of BioSolution's nonclinical research center, said, "Through this joint exhibition, we want to show on site the integrated evaluation process, from selecting human tissue models to test design, precision analysis, and data interpretation." She added, "It will allow visitors to systematically see how BioSolution's 3D tissue models and Merck's analytical technologies can be connected in real research."
