Kim Byung-ji publicly lashes out: "Are you running for parliament, Park Moon-sung?"

[Financial News] Kim Byung-ji, CEO of professional football club Gangwon FC, has hit back at football commentator Park Moon-sung, who has raised a series of allegations against him.
On the 24th, Kim said on his Instagram, "I want to ask Park Moon-sung: Are you perhaps running for the National Assembly? I believe you would not use football as a political stepping stone, but there are many rumors."
He added, "Separate from these rumors, Park Moon-sung is currently a co-chair of the Professional Football Growth Committee launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, so he is a public figure." He continued, "I think he has a responsibility to explain the allegations circulating in public."
Kim also questioned Park's past activities related to the Korea Football Association (KFA), saying, "Didn't you do a lot of work related to the association in the past? I don't think it was just volunteer work. Was the compensation back then a good one?"
He also brought up the KFA's recent controversy over improper corporate card use. He said, "There was a time when the association used corporate cards improperly. But are you saying you never attended meals or second-round drinking sessions that were paid for with the association's corporate card, even since your days as a reporter?"
He went on to say, "It seems your criticism of the association became broader and more intense starting in 2024. Were you not interested in the vice chair position in 2023?" He added, "There are also rumors that you were involved in the process of selecting Park Sung-bae as the Soongsil University football coach. What do you make of that?"
Kim also said, "You have talked a lot about my sons, but how did your daughter end up studying in Canada while she was in middle school?" He added, "You applied the same standards of scrutiny to me and my family. Do you think that approach is fair?"
Earlier, Park had claimed on his YouTube channel that Kim Byung-ji had privately included his own son in a London training program for Gangwon youth players last year.
The issue had already sparked controversy once last year. At the time, Gangwon ran a London training program for youth players as part of a cooperation project between the two clubs after Yang Min-hyeok transferred to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in the Premier League. The controversy grew after it became known that Kim's son and five high school prospects who were not part of Gangwon's youth team had also been included. Kim later issued a public apology.
On the 21st, Kim said on his YouTube channel, "Kkongbyungji TV," that he would file a civil lawsuit against Park and the YouTube channel "Dalsune Live" while denying the allegations surrounding him.
Meanwhile, Kim told Yonhap News Agency that if he decides it is necessary, he will later organize and share materials or evidence that could lay out the specific facts behind the allegations involving Park.
In response to Kim's post, Park told Yonhap News Agency, "He can just undergo an investigation."
