Police Investigation Reform Committee to Announce Recommendation on 31st for Overhauling Victim Protection Investigation System

[Financial News] The Police Investigation Reform Committee will announce its first recommendation for protecting crime victims on the 31st.
The committee said it held its fifth meeting at 2 p.m. on the 24th at the National Office of Investigation and reviewed a draft of its first recommendation for victim protection alongside a reform plan for the victim protection investigation system prepared by the National Police Agency.
The committee also received a briefing from the National Police Agency and exchanged views on the share of criminal law in the entrance exams for the Korean National Police University and for open recruitment of police officers, as well as measures to strengthen investigative command and supervision systems and investigative capabilities.
It was also reported that the committee discussed the progress of the autonomous police system related to rotation-based personnel transfers and the state-appointed counsel system for victims.
The committee also continued follow-up discussions on field opinions raised during its meeting with the Police Public Officials' Council on the 20th. Rotation-based personnel transfers and inspection issues raised at the time were among the main topics.
Based on the discussions held that day, the committee plans to further refine its recommendation for protecting crime victims and announce it on the 31st.
