KORAIL Holds White-Hat Hacking Competition for Employees, Says It Helped Them Feel the Importance of Information Security

[Financial News] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) conducted hands-on cybersecurity training for employees through an in-house white-hat hacking competition.
According to KORAIL on the 24th, the competition ran for four days from the 18th in a Capture the Flag (CTF) format, with participants solving hacking and defense exercises.
More than 12,000 employees joined the event, representing a participation rate of about 40% of the total workforce.
Participants searched for security vulnerabilities in a simulated website, submitted hidden answers, and competed for points.
The scoring system awarded more points for solving higher-value problems or submitting answers more quickly. KORAIL also designed the questions so that employees unfamiliar with information security could take part, while providing security guidelines linked to each vulnerability.
KORAIL recognized 20 outstanding participants, awarding a Galaxy Tab to the top scorer.
Kim Taegwang, Information Security Manager at KORAIL, said, "We will continue to expand experiential training programs that allow employees to directly participate and feel the importance of information security."
