[Financial News] Dunamu, which operates the virtual asset exchange Upbit, is stepping up efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of traditional markets and small businesses.
At 11 a.m. on the 24th, Dunamu signed an MOU with the Seoul Regional Office of SMEs and Startups and the Seoul regional headquarters of the Small Enterprise and Market Service at the Seoul office in the Government Complex Gwacheon.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dunamu CEO Kyungseok Oh, Seoul Regional Office chief Kim Woo-soon, and SEMAS Seoul regional headquarters chief Cho Yong-min, who discussed ways to revitalize traditional markets.
Under the agreement, the three organizations plan to build a public-private cooperation framework and use Dunamu's digital, AI and blockchain technology infrastructure to improve the practical competitiveness of traditional markets and small businesses in the Seoul area.
As the first step under the agreement, they plan to jointly host a "Traditional Market Digital Innovation Idea Contest" for graduate students and university students. Details on recruitment and the schedule will be announced separately at the end of this month.
Cho said, "Based on voices from the field, we will work to identify ideas that can be put to practical use and lead to changes that traditional markets and small businesses can actually feel."
Kim stated, "With this agreement as a starting point, we will work to prepare ongoing support measures so that traditional markets and small businesses do not face difficulties when introducing new technologies."
Oh said, "Based on Dunamu's technology infrastructure, the public and private sectors will join forces, and we will continue working so that advanced technology can be used as a tool to revitalize local economies and promote mutual growth."
Meanwhile, Dunamu has been supporting a range of projects in the Seoul area, including signing an MOU with Seoul Metropolitan City last month to strengthen young people's economic and financial capabilities and improve their understanding of virtual assets.
