Busan Bank to Change the Way It Works with AI... Launches 'AI Crew'

[Financial News] Busan Bank announced on the 24th that it held the launch ceremony for its 'AI Crew' on the 21st at its headquarters. The group is made up of AI-leading staff members from each department, and the bank is now moving in earnest to spread an AI-based work culture across the organization to strengthen employees' AI capabilities and improve productivity.
Busan Bank has formed the AI Crew with at least one employee from each head office department, for a total of about 90 staff members. The AI Crew will apply AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to their actual work, identify ways to improve efficiency in tasks such as document writing and data analysis, and share their experience, cases and know-how with colleagues.
Starting with the launch ceremony, Busan Bank plans to run a range of programs through December for the AI Crew, including training on Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Copilot, prompt workshops, monthly in-person workshops, task-based mission challenges, department-specific AI mission challenges and a hackathon to discover AI use cases.
The program is designed not simply to introduce new AI technologies, but to have frontline employees apply AI directly to their work, verify the results and then spread those practices throughout the organization.
Through this effort, the bank aims to reduce the time spent on repetitive and simple tasks. It also plans to create an environment where employees can focus on higher-value work such as customer service and financial service planning.
It also plans to create a voluntary learning environment where team-based communication channels allow employees to freely share AI experiences and ideas. In addition, the bank will continuously identify proven best practices from the field and expand them across the organization.
A Busan Bank official said, "The key to AI transformation is not just introducing new technology, but having employees use it in their actual work and change the way they work." The official added, "We hope the AI Crew launched today will become the starting point for change in each department and help create practical AI use cases unique to Busan Bank."
