"Seoul SMEs to Expand Globally" SBA Seeks Companies for 'STEP 2026'

[Financial News] The Seoul Business Agency (SBA) will hold a business consultation event that directly connects global buyers to help Seoul-based small and midsize companies expand overseas sales channels and attract investment.
According to the industry on the 24th, SBA is publicly recruiting about 140 Seoul-based SMEs to participate in the 'STEP 2026 Global Business Consultation' to be held on October 13-14.
The event is a global business program that connects Seoul SMEs seeking to enter overseas markets with foreign buyers, offering one-on-one business meetings and investment networking opportunities. SBA plans to invite around 50 companies, including overseas buyers and domestic and international investors and partners, for business consultations and investment networking with participating firms.
The recruitment categories include Artificial Intelligence (AI), AI transformation, Information and Communications Technology (ICT), electrical and electronics, software, security and cloud, and digital healthcare.
SBA will provide dedicated interpreters to ensure smooth discussions with overseas buyers and will also help produce an English directory book introducing the products and technologies of participating companies.
At last year's consultation event, 204 SMEs and 57 overseas buyers took part in a total of 1,028 one-on-one business meetings. The event led to memorandums of understanding worth $5.35 million.
SMEs wishing to participate can apply through the SBA website by the 31st.
Jeon Dae-hyun, head of SBA's Industrial Base Division, said, "STEP 2026 is a global business platform that goes beyond simple export consultations with overseas buyers and brings together investment, technology and business partnerships in one place." He added, "We will actively support Seoul's outstanding companies so they can meet overseas buyers and investors, create practical cooperation opportunities, and achieve real export and investment results."
