[Financial News] Iran has partially allowed Iraqi oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
Reuters reported on the 22nd, citing Iran's Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), that the Iranian government had granted special permission for some Iraqi oil tankers to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
The move followed repeated requests from the Iraqi government for its tankers to be allowed through via multiple diplomatic channels.
During a recent visit to Iraq by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament of Iran, Iraqi officials reportedly identified special transit permission for their oil tankers as one of their key requests.
However, the number of Iraqi tankers allowed to pass and the specific schedule were not disclosed.
