[Financial News] Witness accounts are spreading that a Chinese woman caused a disturbance during a screening of the film 'Odyssey' at a movie theater in Incheon, repeatedly looking at her phone and muttering to herself.
On the 20th, posts began appearing on the social networking service Thread saying that a foreign moviegoer had caused a disturbance the previous day while watching 'Odyssey' at a multiplex theater in Incheon.
According to the poster, the audience member disrupted the screening from about 30 minutes before the end of the roughly three-hour film, keeping the phone screen brightness at maximum, muttering in Chinese, and making rough breathing sounds.
When a nearby viewer, unable to tolerate the behavior any longer, told her not to use her phone, the foreign woman pointed her finger aggressively and, in broken Korean, said, "I will report you to the police," while continuing to act out.
As the disturbance continued, some viewers left the theater before the film ended. The incident was eventually brought under control after police were dispatched to the theater.
The theater reportedly apologized to affected viewers and offered them gift certificates.
