[Financial News] Guillaume Patry, a former professional gamer turned broadcaster, has pushed back against long-circulating rumors that he is worth tens of billions of won, while also revealing the size of his assets and his investment outlook.
Patry recently showed his villa in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, on a broadcast and shared an update on his life as a full-time investor. Addressing speculation about his enormous wealth, he said, "Various estimates have been circulating in the market, but I have never become a complete millionaire," adding that he is at a level where he can live comfortably after retirement.
Regarded as an early investor in virtual assets, or cryptocurrencies, he began buying Bitcoin in 2017, when it was trading at around $700 to $900 per coin. He said he entered the market after noticing the payment utility of overseas poker players using Bitcoin instead of cash.
He pointed to long-term value investing as the key driver behind his wealth. Patry said, "The right answer to investing is to hold for the long term," explaining that he follows a strategy of holding assets for at least 10 years. He added that he has set his target to sell his Bitcoin after 2030, and that short-term price corrections are opportunities to buy more and expand his portfolio.
He is currently working as a full-time investor across Bitcoin, real estate, and the stock market. Patry emphasized that stable wealth accumulation is possible if one continues to analyze the market and maintain long-term diversified investments rather than chasing short-term gains.
