Na Kyung-won of the People Power Party strongly criticized President Lee Jae-myung's recent order to relocate the Gwangju Air Base and the ruling party leadership's moves, calling them "security manipulation. " On the 19th, Na posted on social media an article titled, "Honam semiconductors are a lure? Answer whether the real goal is the withdrawal of USFK under the Lee administration.
" Na said, "If you put the scattered pieces together in chronological order, a bizarre picture emerges. " She added, "On Aug. 10, President Lee Jae-myung ordered a 'speed battle' and 'blitzkrieg' approach to relocating the Gwangju Air Base site, and the very next day, Kim Min-seok, then the Democratic Party's new leader candidate, unveiled the 'Honam semiconductors' pledge. " She went on to say, "On the same day, Kim Min-woong, the executive chair of Candlelight Action and the older brother of party leader Kim, announced an anti-U.
S. struggle by saying, 'Let's smash the U. S. Seventh Air Force.
'" She also pointed out that "coincidentally, on Aug. 15, the day of the Honam regional party convention, Kim Min-woong went ahead with a large anti-U. S. rally calling for the expulsion of U.
S. forces in front of the main gate of Gwangju Air Base. " Na asked, "The president is stoking the fire, the younger brother is shouting 'semiconductors,' and the older brother has stepped forward as the enforcer of 'driving out the anti-U. S.
military. '" She added, "Is all of this a coincidence, or is it a sophisticated 'division of roles' that sacrifices the ROK-U. S. Alliance?" She noted that "Gwangju Air Base is a ROK-U.
S. joint air base where U. S. air power can be deployed in an emergency, and there is clearly an area provided to the U.
S. side under SOFA. " She then criticized the situation further, saying, "No wonder people are even lamenting that the Honam semiconductors are just a lure, and the real purpose is the withdrawal of USFK. " She also expressed concern about worsening ties between Seoul and Washington, citing recent remarks by U.
S. President Donald Trump about scaling back the ROK-U. S. Combined Military Exercise.
Na said, "While the China-Russia-North Korea triangle is drawing closer beyond a blood alliance, is the Lee administration planning to abandon traditional friends and allies and side with China, Russia, and North Korea?" She urged President Lee Jae-myung and party leader Kim Min-seok to make a clear public statement on whether they share the same view as the rally for the expulsion of USFK led by the party leader's older brother.
