[Financial News] Mathilde Favier, the PR chief for the French luxury brand Christian Dior, and her husband died together in a car accident.
Yonhap News Agency reported on the 19th, citing AFP, that the couple died in a car accident in the Niort area of western France on the 17th local time.
The Niort prosecutors’ office said the vehicle they were in collided with an oncoming truck while trying to overtake another car.
Favier's husband was French film producer Nicolas Altmaier, who produced the cult comedy "The Brice of Nice" and the thriller "The Conquest," which follows former President Nicolas Sarkozy's rise to power.
French Culture Minister Catherine Pégard paid tribute to Altmaier, calling him "a producer with a sharp eye, someone who could balance popular comedy and auteur ambition with equal precision." She said Favier "embodied France's greatness in another form, through fashion and luxury."
Favier joined Dior in 2011 after working at Prada.
Bernard Arnault, chairman of LVMH, which owns Dior, also paid tribute through the brand's Instagram account, saying that Favier had devoted "so much of her passion, energy and talent to Dior over many years."
Jisoo, a global ambassador for Dior and a member of Blackpink, also expressed her condolences by sharing a photo with Favier on her Instagram Story.
Jisoo said, "From the very beginning of my journey with Dior, you welcomed me so warmly and kindly." She added, "We shared special moments together over the years, and because of you, Paris felt like another home." She went on to say, "I will forever cherish every precious memory we shared."
