[Financial News] Actor Jang Dong-gun has personally addressed recent rumors that he underwent plastic surgery.
In a video released on the YouTube channel "Ko So-young" on the 18th, Jang Dong-gun and his wife Ko So-young directly denied the recent speculation over changes in their appearance.
The production team, after seeing Jang Dong-gun in person, said, "I was shocked when I saw him in real life. He’s really handsome," and added, "I don’t understand why there was controversy recently," referring to the latest rumors about a procedure.
Jang Dong-gun joked, "Since it’s been treated as if I had plastic surgery, I have to look good on camera."
Ko So-young then explained, "It was taken with a beauty app. We naturally thought everyone would know it was a beauty app photo, but this has blown up far too much."
Jang Dong-gun said, "At first, I didn’t think much of it, but then my father called. I had seen him three days earlier, and he asked, 'What did you do to your face in just one day?'" He added, "That’s when I realized people actually believed it. I got more phone calls than when one of my films is released."
Earlier in July, fashion magazine Dazed Korea posted a video of a liquor brand launch event on its official Instagram account. In the video, Jang Dong-gun appeared with a noticeably different look, including a reddish blush effect, which led some online users to raise suspicions that he had undergone a procedure.
