"Filming While Breastfeeding": New Mother Sadie Sink Opens Up About the Reality of Being a Working Mom at a Public Event with Hong Sang-soo

[Financial News] Actress Sadie Sink made her first public appearance since giving birth.
According to News 1 and others on the 14th, Sink attended the 79th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland with director Hong Sang-soo.
The two were seen at a screening and audience Q&A for Hong's 35th feature film, "Nowhere to Lay My Eyes," which was invited to the festival's international competition section. It was the first time they had appeared together at a public event since Sink gave birth to a son with Hong in April last year.
Sink shared her thoughts on becoming a working mother while balancing acting and childcare.
She said, "This was the first film I shot after taking about two years off after giving birth, so I was in a different state than before." She added, "I was busy in very practical ways. Even while filming, I went to the set with my baby. I had to breastfeed and make baby food. I was so busy preparing for my baby that I barely had time to breathe before getting ready for the film."
She continued, "Because I prepared that way, I no longer had the mindset I used to have when I made films before, where I would say I would focus only on the movie." She said, "What mattered was that, since I had a baby, I finished everything I needed to do for the baby and then gave my best to the film. That felt healthier." She added, "I think the feeling of accepting that moment with joy, without obsession or pretense, naturally came through in the character as well."
Meanwhile, Hong's 35th feature film, "Nowhere to Lay My Eyes," follows Sang-hee (played by Sink), who grew up with her grandparents after her parents' conflict, as she travels to Jeju Island with her younger brother to look for their mother, whom they last saw 10 years ago. The film stars Sink, Choi Myung-gil, Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Seok-ho, and Park Miso.
This is also Hong's fifth film to be invited to the Locarno Film Festival. Founded in 1946, the festival is a prestigious event held in Locarno, Switzerland, and mainly showcases artistic and experimental auteur films.
Hong and Sink first met as director and lead actress through the 2015 film "Right Now, Wrong Then." They officially acknowledged their relationship in 2017 and have now been together for 10 years, continuing to work on projects together. The couple welcomed a son in April last year.
