[Financial News] V, a member of BTS, said he is receiving treatment for a hearing condition.
According to Yonhap News Agency and other reports on the 12th, V held a Weverse LIVE session with fellow member Jungkook after the group wrapped up a concert in Baltimore the previous day.
V said, "I had never told ARMY about this, but my hearing has been poor for the past two and a half years." He added, "If my left ear hears at 100, my right ear only hears at 30."
He said the symptoms worsened during his military service.
V explained, "Because there were so many athletic people in the military, they said it was a mental toughness issue." He added, "After that, I almost became hypnotized into thinking it was a mental toughness issue." He reassured fans, saying, "I take medicine regularly and I go to the hospital diligently."
Jungkook also revealed that he has been dealing with shin pain.
Jungkook said, "My shin is in a condition just before a stress fracture." He added, "Even today, I wanted to run with all my heart on stage, but I was in too much pain at times and couldn't run."
He continued, "I am not at the stress-fracture stage yet, but there is a lot of inflammation in my shin." He also said, "It looks like there is some microscopic damage to the bone."
Jungkook said he would do his best to manage the condition and keep performing, but added, "I hope the fans can understand."
He added, "When I absolutely need to run, I will run, but I will also have to hold back at times, even if it is forced, so that I can finish this tour well."
Meanwhile, BTS is currently on the North American leg of its world tour, Arirang. The group is scheduled to meet fans on the 15th and 16th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and on the 22nd and 23rd at Rogers Stadium in Toronto, Canada.
