Wi Sung-lac meets U.S. ambassador nominee Michelle Steel to South Korea... "Close communication for the development of the ROK-U.S. Alliance"

[Financial News] Director of the Office of National Security Wi Sung-lac met with Michelle Steel, the incoming United States Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, and agreed to maintain close communication for the continued development of the ROK-U.S. Alliance.
A Cheong Wa Dae official said on the 7th that Wi met Steel on the 4th for a courtesy visit after her appointment.
At the meeting, Steel said, "I will do my utmost to continue close communication with the Office of National Security and contribute to the continued development of the ROK-U.S. Alliance."
Although the meeting was a courtesy visit, the two sides are also said to have exchanged views on pending security and trade issues between South Korea and the United States.
That same day, Steel also visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she met with Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and submitted a copy of her credentials. Steel, a Korean American and former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the Republican Party, arrived in South Korea on the 30th of last month.
