Seoul Sizzles at 39 C as Temperatures May Top 40 Before the Start of Autumn [FN Weather]

[Financial News]  On Thursday, the 6th, Seoul's daytime high is expected to reach 39 C, as a life-threatening heat wave continues across the greater Seoul area. Temperatures will not fall much at night, and tropical nights are expected in many places.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), Severe Heat Wave Alerts are in effect for Seoul, Ganghwa County, northern and southern Incheon, Gwangmyeong-si, Ansan-si, Gimpo, Yeoncheon County, Pocheon, Gapyeong County, Goyang, Namyangju, Osan, Pyeongtaek, Uiwang, Hanam-si, Anseong, Hwaseong, northwestern Paju, southern Paju, Yongin, Yeoju, Yangpyeong County, and Gwangyang in Jeollanam-do. A Severe Heat Wave Alert is the highest-level warning issued when the forecast high is 39 C or higher, or when the maximum apparent temperature is expected to reach 38 C or higher.
The daytime highs in major cities are forecast at 39 C in Seoul, 38 C in Incheon, 37 C in Chuncheon, 32 C in Gangneung, 37 C in Daejeon, 36 C in Daegu, 38 C in Jeonju, 37 C in Gwangju, 33 C in Busan, and 33 C in Jeju. Seoul's morning low is also expected to be 31 C, with an apparent temperature of 31.9 C, suggesting that the heat that built up overnight will continue into the day.
Heat advisories are in effect across most of the country. For the time being, the maximum apparent temperature is expected to rise to around 35 C, and tropical nights, when the overnight low does not fall below 25 C, will continue in many areas.
In areas where rain or showers fall, temperatures may briefly ease. However, once the rain stops, high humidity could push temperatures back up and make the heat feel even more intense. By 9 a.m. on this day, some inland areas of the Jeolla Region may see fog with visibility under 1 km. In the mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, dense fog with visibility below 200 m and drizzle are expected due to low clouds brought by easterly winds.
Fine dust levels nationwide are forecast to remain in the 'good' or 'moderate' range.
