[Financial News] A practicing lawyer drew attention by saying that actor Hwang Jung-min's private-life controversy was "an affair."
On the 4th, the YouTube channel "Ahneunbyeonhosa" released a video titled, "Oh, it's Ahbyeon. Hwang Jung-min is definitely having an affair, there's no room for misunderstanding, and the woman is definitely a stalking criminal, nothing changes."
In the video, lawyer Lee Ji-hoon said about the relationship between Hwang Jung-min and the whistleblower identified as A, "In 2023, the two could be seen as having an extramarital relationship, and from 2025, the woman's one-sided stalking begins. The timing does not overlap."
A has claimed that she was in a private relationship with Hwang Jung-min since July 29 and has been releasing call records and messages exchanged with him as evidence.
A also claimed that Hwang Jung-min sent messages such as, "Anyway, it's our first date, so I should at least take you home," and "I'm so excited," ahead of meeting her.
Regarding this, the lawyer said, "It is inappropriate for a married person to say things like 'first date,' 'I'm excited,' 'cute,' or 'I want to hug you' to someone of the opposite sex. Legally, adultery is not limited to sexual intercourse with another person." He added, "Meals, gifts, and expressions of affection can also amount to adultery if they go beyond a normal relationship. You do not need to have sex. You do not need to go to a motel. You do not even need to hold hands. This is not creating room for misunderstanding; it is simply an affair."
On A's behavior, the lawyer explained, "Hwang Jung-min told her not to contact him, but she kept contacting him. That alone could constitute stalking. If there was something to settle with him, she should have resolved it through legal means such as a certified content letter," and added, "From the point where she approached his son and sent a suicide note, it could be applied as intimidation. Even if A has requested a formal trial, that does not make the stalking charge disappear. The conduct is clear."
Regarding the latest private-life controversy, Hwang Jung-min's agency, SEM COMPANY, said it was "the one-sided claim of a suspect in a stalking case."
It added, "The court imposed temporary measures, including a no-contact order, on the suspect on three occasions and issued a summary order imposing a fine of 3 million won after recognizing the stalking allegations. We plan to take additional legal action against maliciously edited posts."
