"A Scene of Just a Quick Rinse with Water" Video of Beer Glasses Being Washed at a Fukuoka Restaurant Spreads

[Financial News] A scene appearing to show used beer glasses being returned without being properly washed at a restaurant in Fukuoka, Japan, has raised hygiene concerns. In a video filmed by a customer, an employee can be seen cleaning the beer glass only with water and a scrub pad.
On the 4th, a video taken inside the kitchen of a restaurant in the Fukuoka area was posted on social networking services and other platforms.
Informant A questioned the cleaning method he witnessed on site. He said, "I thought they would not do anything unhygienic in Japan," and claimed, "At a restaurant in Fukuoka, they washed and used beer glasses in a dirty way."
In the video, a female employee is seen wiping a beer glass used by a customer with water and a scrub pad before serving it back to the customer.
A described the scene by saying, "Even if there was foreign matter in the beer glass, it looked like they were just giving it a quick rinse with water," and added, "I do not know whether all employees do that or whether only that employee has a problem."
Internet users who said they were planning a trip to Fukuoka reacted critically, saying, "If the food is served at a restaurant like that, it would feel very unpleasant," and "I cannot understand it."
