[Financial News] On Sunday, the 2nd, most parts of the country are expected to see continued heat and tropical nights, with the perceived temperature rising to around 35 C. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), morning lows will range from 21 C to 27 C, while daytime highs will range from 32 C to 39 C, staying above seasonal norms. In the central region, skies will be cloudy at first but gradually clear from the morning, while the southern region and Jeju Island will be mostly sunny.
The perceived temperature in most parts of the country is expected to climb to around 35 C, making conditions extremely hot. In some areas of Gyeongnam Province, the heat wave warning is expected to remain in effect.
In particular, western and central Busan, eastern Ulsan, Yangsan, Changwon, Gimhae, Miryang, Changnyeong County, Jinju, and other areas are expected to see highs of 39 C, or perceived temperatures of 38 C or higher. The KMA urged people to avoid outdoor activities and outdoor work unless absolutely necessary, and to drink plenty of water and rest.
The risk of heat-related illness is also high. Infants, older adults, and people with chronic illnesses should reduce outdoor activity. Those working outdoors or in agriculture should wear well-ventilated clothing and make sure they have enough cool water and rest areas. Livestock farms should also take steps to prevent damage by using fans and misting systems to lower temperatures inside barns.
Tropical nights, when temperatures stay above 25 C even after dark, are expected to continue in many parts of the country. The KMA advised people to keep indoor temperatures at a comfortable level using air conditioners and fans, drink enough water before bed, and avoid caffeine and alcohol. It also said it is necessary to check regularly on vulnerable groups, such as seniors living alone and people with chronic illnesses.
Until morning, dense fog with visibility under 200 meters may form mainly in eastern Jeonbuk and along the coast of South Jeolla Province. Traffic safety caution is also needed in western Incheon and Gyeonggi Province, inland Gangwon Province, and the Chungcheong Region. Strong winds are expected along the east coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, as well as the east coast and northeastern mountains of Gyeongbuk, so caution is also needed in managing facilities.
At sea, sea fog is expected to continue, mainly over the West Sea and the southwestern waters off the south coast. Some island areas may also see drizzle along with dense fog, so vessels sailing or fishing should check navigation information in advance.
The KMA said, "With heat alerts in effect across the country, very hot weather will continue for the time being, and tropical nights may occur in some areas." It added, "Please take extra care to prevent heat-related illness by avoiding outdoor activities and farm work, and by drinking enough water."
