President Lee wraps up summit in Argentina and heads to Frankfurt

[Financial News, Buenos Aires, Argentina = Choi Jong-geun]President Lee Jae Myung departed Buenos Aires, Argentina, for Frankfurt am Main, Germany, on the 1st local time, after completing his tour of the United States and three South American countries.
Because the flight distance from South America to Korea exceeds the aircraft's maximum range, Code One will stop in Frankfurt am Main to refuel. While the plane is being refueled, Lee will meet with local Koreans before continuing his return trip.
Earlier, Lee attended an official welcome ceremony at the presidential palace in Buenos Aires the previous day and held a summit with Argentine President Javier Milei. It was the first official visit by a South Korean president to Argentina in 22 years.
At the summit, Lee and Milei agreed to significantly expand cooperation on critical mineral supply chains between the two countries. They also decided to begin importing Argentine crude oil in earnest from next year and finalized negotiations on a double taxation avoidance agreement. In addition, following Brazil, they agreed with Argentina to resume negotiations on a Korea-MERCOSUR trade agreement within this year, broadening the scope of economic cooperation.
