[Financial News] NVIDIA, the leading AI chipmaker, has reclaimed the title of the world's most valuable company by market capitalization just four days after losing it to Apple.
According to the U.S. stock market on the 31st local time, NVIDIA shares closed the regular session at $200.75, up 2.93% for the day.
As a result, NVIDIA's market capitalization at the close reached $4.86 trillion, overtaking Apple to regain the No. 1 spot.
Apple, meanwhile, fell 7.35% to close at $308.91. Its market capitalization also shrank again to about $4.54 trillion.
Apple said in its earnings release the previous day that revenue growth would be limited by supply constraints in the July-September period, and disappointment-driven selling hit the stock during regular trading on the day.
In New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) trading that day, many technology companies, including Alphabet Inc., Microsoft and Amazon, which are among the world's three largest cloud firms, posted gains. Apple, however, plunged. Analysts said Apple had risen for several days on the back of its minimal AI-related investment, but the stock reversed course as supply shortages in AI-related memory and semiconductors weighed on its earnings outlook.
