Trump Says Israel Is Satisfied With Hamas Disarmament Agreement

[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 31st local time that Israel is satisfied with the agreement on the disarmament of Hamas, the pro-Iran armed group in Palestine.
At a Cabinet meeting held that day at Camp David in Maryland, Trump said of the Hamas disarmament agreement, "We are on the same page with Israel," adding, "Israel is very satisfied with this. They helped us and were really good to us."
He also praised the deal, saying, "Most people said the negotiations could not be reached," and "This is a tremendous breakthrough. No one thought Hamas could be disarmed."
Earlier, on July 30 local time, Trump announced that the Board of Peace had reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all armed groups in the Gaza Strip. A Board of Peace official said, "Israel is skeptical that Hamas will disarm," but added, "This is not a trust-based agreement. It is a conditions-based agreement." Some in Israel voiced dissatisfaction, but the remarks were interpreted as dismissing the idea that there was any difference in position with Israel.
A U.S. government official said, "We will not ask Israel for anything beyond agreeing to the 20 points originally agreed upon, and we are confident Israel will comply." The official added, "If not, President Trump will be very, very disappointed."
Meanwhile, Hamas said in a statement on the day that the withdrawal of the IDF from the Gaza Strip would be a condition for disarmament. Israel has not yet issued an official response. However, it appears to hold the view that Hamas must disarm first.
