[Financial News] As scorching heat continued to grip the country for days, South Chungcheong Province also saw a string of heat-related illnesses on the 31st. Including a case in which a worker collapsed from cardiac arrest at a worksite and later recovered after emergency treatment, four heat-related illness reports were filed with the fire authorities in South Chungcheong Province in a single day.
According to the Chungnam Fire Headquarters, at around 11:17 a.m. that day, a man in his 50s, identified as A, suddenly collapsed while working outdoors at a construction site in Jangjae-ri, Baebang-eup, Asan-si, South Chungcheong Province, with symptoms suspected to be heat-related illness. At the time, A was in cardiac arrest, but he regained consciousness after swift emergency treatment by paramedics dispatched to the scene. He is currently hospitalized and receiving treatment.
There were also cases of older adults collapsing while outdoors. In Boryeong, a person in his 60s was found collapsed while doing farm work near a detached house. In Seosan, a person in his 80s who was sitting in the grass on the roadside shoulder showed symptoms of heat-related illness and was urgently taken to a nearby hospital.
