Israeli military destroys Hezbollah tunnel using 700 tons of explosives

[Financial News] The Israeli military officially announced that it had demolished a large underground tunnel in the Beaufort Castle area of southern Lebanon.
Cable News Network (CNN) reported on the 30th local time that about 700 tons of explosives were used in the operation.
In a joint statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said the underground facility destroyed this time was a key base in Hezbollah's plan to infiltrate and attack towns in northern Israel.
Israel said the operation was carried out in response to "Hezbollah's blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement the previous day," but it did not specify exactly what violation had occurred.
In the statement, Netanyahu and Katz warned that "the State of Israel will not tolerate any violation of the ceasefire agreement" and that it would "respond firmly and forcefully to any attempt to harm the IDF or civilians."
They added that "the IDF will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon and will continue to destroy terrorist infrastructure to prevent any attempt by Hezbollah to rebuild its forces."
Meanwhile, Hezbollah has not immediately commented on the Israeli military's demolition operation or the claim that it violated the ceasefire agreement.
