[Financial News] Hanmi Semiconductor Chairman Kwak Dong-shin has continued to buy back company shares. Through the purchases, he has shown confidence in the company's future growth.
According to industry sources on the 30th, Chairman Kwak bought 5 billion won worth of Hanmi Semiconductor treasury shares. This fulfills the buyback plan disclosed on the 2nd.
The purchase price was 170,565 won per share, raising his stake to 33.62%, or 32,048,145 shares. After buying 3 billion won worth of shares in April and 8 billion won worth in June, Kwak added another 5 billion won this time, bringing his total treasury share purchases this year to 16 billion won. Since 2023, the total value of shares he has acquired has reached 69.5 billion won.
Since 2024, Kwak has received cumulative dividends of 64.74 billion won. He has reinvested more than that amount into treasury share purchases. This is seen as an example of responsible management, in which the company returns the fruits of its success to enhance corporate value.
A Hanmi Semiconductor official said, "Chairman Kwak's share purchases show confidence in the company's technology and future growth in the global artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor equipment market," adding, "They also reflect his determination to raise corporate value, based on the view that the stock is undervalued relative to strong growth momentum, including entry into the U.S. market and supply of next-generation equipment."
Hanmi Semiconductor posted revenue of 251.1 billion won in the second quarter of this year, setting a quarterly record. Its operating margin for the same period reached 51.9%. The company continues to hold the No. 1 position in the TC bonder equipment market, which is essential for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) production.
Hanmi Semiconductor plans to enter the U.S. market by establishing a subsidiary, Hanmi USA, in San Jose, California, by the end of this year. The official added, "We will further solidify our leadership in the global AI semiconductor packaging market."
